Both Manchester City and Liverpool stumbled in the first leg of their Europa League clashes last night. Kenny Dalglish was left furious by the Reds display, while Roberto Mancini slammed the City defence. It has certainly been a bad week for English clubs in Europe with Tottenham impressive shut out against Milan being the only exception.

In the papers this morning there have been a mixed bag of stories that includes Wenger slamming UEFA over charge; Ferguson claims to have been misinterpreted, while Sepp Blatter is to face a challenge for the FIFA presidency.
