England’s seemingly pointless post-season internationals come to a close this evenings as the Three Lions face France in a friendly.
The interest from most fans is now held mainly in making sure that anyone from their respective club sides makes it though unscathed and fit to return to pre-season training in less than a month’s time.
However, for Tottenham fans there were a couple of things to note. First of all, a debut for young right-back Kieran Trippier after emerging as a more than capable top six talent in the closing stages of the season.
Furthermore, Trippier’s landmark moment also means another Spurs fan has to settle for a spot on the bench. Kyle Walker, who has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester City having been snubbed for Trippier at club level on a few occasions by manager Mauricio Pochettino.
